Letter from the Editor

Hi all,

I know that I have been absent for the last week, but it's been for good reason. I have spent that time contemplating the way this website should run and it has been a challenging experience. Opportunities have been rather abundant this year. So much so, that I feel I am losing sight of my original vision. This site, Respectedd, was inspired from a quote that said,
"Be Beautiful if you can, wise if you want to... But be respected that is essential."

That quote, from Anna Gould, is why this site was built. Respect is not about what we can achieve, but what we can share. In the last few months, Respectedd has had the opportunity to cover The Oscars and Los Angeles Fashion Week.

While covering events, I realized that most do not care about their audience. It is all about their experience, their exclusive access, and their right to brag. I was the surprise of every Fashion Photographer who realized that I was not there to get my picture posted on irrelevant blog sites. I was there to learn trends, discover art, and share it with my audience.

Overt cockiness will never be rare in Los Angeles, but I have decided not to participate in that trend. Instead, I will focus on introducing you to the best of the world, whether it be through Politics, Entertainment, or Fashion.

It is my goal and absolute dream to encourage my audience to do something more, to dream of something extraordinary, and to live lives that are truly worth living. I look forward to sharing this journey with every one of you. Hold on! The ride may be bumpy, but it will definitely be worth it.

With Lots of love,
Christina Williams

NBC News President Steve Capus steps down

NBC News President Steve Capus resigned on Friday.

Capus worked as President for 8 years, but lost control after the 'Today' show lost its' 16 year rating victory to 'GMA'.

"It's been a privilege to have spent two decades here, but it is now time to head in a new direction." I have informed Pat Fili Krushel (chairman of NBC Universal News Group) that I will be leaving NBC News in the coming weeks." he wrote in a letter to NBC staff. " It is impossible to fully express how much I respect the people of NBC News. To call everyone 'colleagues' has been a true honor... but to call so many of you dear friends has been a true gift. Thank you for everything. I could not be prouder of what we have accomplished together."

No word on who will replace Capus after he leaves NBC.

Iran President speaks on Anti-Islam video

Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will speak on the Anti-Islam video that sparked controversy in the Muslim world with Piers Morgan on Monday.

The online film, 'Innocence of Muslims,' portrayed Muslims in a bad light and called their Holy Prophet Mohammed a backward womanizer and murderer.

During the interview, Ahmadinejad said :
Offending the Holy Prophet is quite ugly. This has very little or nothing to do with freedom and freedom of speech. This is the weakness of the abuse of freedom, and in many places it is a crime. It shouldn't take place and I do hope the day will come in which politicians will not seek to offend those whom others hold holy."
You can catch the full interview on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" at 9 pm ET.

Back Again

I know it's been a while since you last heard from me. I have been busy adjusting to relocation. Last month, I moved to Los Angeles and it's taken more out of me then I thought possible. But hey, that's what moving 5,000 miles away from home will do to you ! Even though it's been a little rough, I do not regret a thing. I love L.A. and the opportunities that this beautiful city creates. I'm back with a vengeance and I have so many new ideas that I would love to share with you guys. The name and design are not the only new things that I've got planned. I will be covering the best of the best including the amazing L.A Fashion Week and interviewing some surprise guests.

Are you excited? Well, you should be ! I have only given you a preview of what's to come.
You've got to stay tuned to see what's next.

Stay Blessed & Stay Respectedd,

- Chrissie
