A new proposal may lead to a co-ed Western Wall.

The proposal, created by Natan Sharansky, would establish a section in the Jewish holy site that would allow men and women to pray together.

Sharansky believes that the section, 'will once again be a symbol of unity among the Jewish people, and not one of discord and strife.'

Despite criticism from some Orthodox Jews who believe that this step will lead to the end of their faith, Orthodox Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz has endorsed the plan. 

"I want everyone to pray according to Orthodox Jewish law,' he said. 'If these things can be done at the Western Wall without hurting others, and this can bring about compromise and serenity, I don't object.'

The Vatican announced that Pope Benedict XVI will become Pope Emeritus on Tuesday.

He is the first Pope to voluntarily resign in over 600 years.

Even though many are afraid that his resignation may cause a divide in the Catholic world, Vatican newspaper editor Giovanni Maria Vian is not worried

"According to evolution of Catholic doctrine and mentality, there is only one Pope. Clearly, it's a new situation, but I don't think there will be problems," she said in an interview. 

The Pope will give up his red shoes, that acted as a tribute to martyrs, and a fisherman ring he used to seal documents.

The Pope announced his resignation on February 11 and will end his role as leader to over 1 billion Catholics around the world on Thursday.

Four people were arrested on Monday after a nightclub fire left over 200 dead.

The people arrested included the club owners and members of the band that performed the night of the fire.

"We concluded that it was necessary to hold them prisoner temporarily, because we need their statements to help us clarify the incident," said police officer Marcos Siana. "We have much work ahead to clarify what happened and identify those responsible."

Mourners left flowers outside the Santa Maria nightclub before heading to a series of funerals.

Over 40 funerals were held on Monday.

The corpse of Kim Jong II, North Korea's former dictator, has become the country's latest tourist attraction.

Young Pioneer Tours, a western tourist group, were given access to the former leader's mausoleum last week.

Gareth Johnson , the group's director, told reporters:

"We were hopeful that if we timed it right, the mausoleum would be open and we would gain access," he said. "It was a combination of great planning and a little luck."

As for Kim Jong II's appearance: "He looks like a person," he said. "Not waxy at all."

Kim Jong II died on December 17, 2011 after suffering a heart attack.

North Korea will be reopened to tourists later this year.

Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will speak on the Anti-Islam video that sparked controversy in the Muslim world with Piers Morgan on Monday.

The online film, 'Innocence of Muslims,' portrayed Muslims in a bad light and called their Holy Prophet Mohammed a backward womanizer and murderer.

During the interview, Ahmadinejad said :

Offending the Holy Prophet is quite ugly. This has very little or nothing to do with freedom and freedom of speech. This is the weakness of the abuse of freedom, and in many places it is a crime. It shouldn't take place and I do hope the day will come in which politicians will not seek to offend those whom others hold holy."

India faced the largest power outage in its' history on Tuesday.

The blackout happened after 3 power grids collapsed.

Even though power was restored in most areas later that evening, it still did not keep people from feeling disappointed in their country.

"Now my power is empty. I am hungry. I am tired. The government is responsible," said Jaswant Kaur, a 62-year-old woman whose train was stalled after the shortage.

Bharatiya Janata's Parkash Javadekar called it, "a huge failure."

Over 650 million people were affected by outage.
