The Boy Scouts of America announced it may lift its' ban on gay members on Monday.

"This would mean there would no longer be any national policy regarding sexual orientation, and the chartered organizations that oversee and deliver Scouting would accept membership and select leaders consistent with each organizations mission, principles, or religious beliefs," said Boys of America spokesman Deron Smith.

The organization has been the target of controversy due to reports of child abuse and its' refusal to allow gay members.

A group of New Jersey Muslims are suing the NYPD for surveillancing their homes and places of worship.

"What makes America great is that everyone is treated equally under the law,"  said Farkana Khera of Muslim Advocates. "These plaintiffs are ordinary citizens going about their lives who law enforcement spied on simply because of their faith."

The suit is a result of  documented surveillance in towns, mosques,and college campuses throughout the country.

2 weeks ago, NJ Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa claimed to have found no evidence of illegal NYPD activity.

Joe Arpaio, an Arizona police sheriff known for making prisoners were pink underwear, is being sued by the United States Justice Department.

The lawsuit accuses Arpaio of racially profiling Latinos.

Arpaio refused to listen to US officials who wanted him to train his officers, claiming it would weaken his authority.

He later released a statement on the lawsuit.

"The Department of Justice would like to take over my office by reaching the implementation of a court-appointed monitor prior to ever producing any evidence that there have been a systemic problem with discrimination in my office," he said.

The lawsuit slams Arpaio's actions, giving examples of numerous unconstitutional incidents in the Maricopa County community.

"Constitutional policing is an essential element of effective law enforcement and Arpaio's conduct is neither constitutional nor effective law enforcement," according to the United States Justice Department.
