The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will hold a screening of the Rwandan documentary, 'Finding Hillywood.'

The Academy website describes the film as an inspiring documentary that displays the 'power of cinema as a catalyst for healing and change.'

The film centers around Ayuub Kasasa Mago, a local filmmaker whose mother died in the 1994 genocide. A coordinator for the Rwanda Film Festival (now in its' 9th year), Mago leads a crew that travels from town to town for Hillywood, the section of the festival that presents locally made movies out doors on giant inflatable screens, bringing joy and inspiration to tens of thousands in Rwandan communities. 

The screening will take place on October 21 at 7 pm at the Academy Theater in New York City.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that the 2014 Oscars ceremony will take place in March.

The ceremony, which usually takes place in late February,  has been pushed back to avoid conflict with the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Several other award shows have also switched dates to avoid competition with the universal sporting event, including the SAG awards.

The 2014 Oscars ceremony will be televised by ABC in its' usual home, The Dolby Theater, on March 2.

The Oscars are making the entire show available online for the first time.

Viewers will be able to watch the show online at ABC.com, Hulu, Hulu Plus, and ABC on Demand.

"Our goal is to give as many ways to enjoy and engage with the Oscars as possible and this will provide another great opportunity for them," said Academy Chief Marketing Officer Christina Konelias.

The show will be available on Monday, February 25 at 6 a.m through Wednesday, February 27 at midnight.

Even though I was a little dissapointed with some of the Academy's choices, I can honestly say that this has been an amazing year for Film.

The Oscars celebrated Makeup and Hairstyling on Saturday.

This years' nominees for Makeup and Hairstyling include: 'Hitchcock,' 'Les Miserables,' and 'The Hobbit.'

The category, though often overlooked , is an essential part of filmmaking that requires a lot of work.

The Oscars celebrated Foreign Films on Saturday.

This years' nominees are 'Amour,' 'War Witch,' 'No,' 'Royal Affair,' and 'Kon-Tiki.'

'Life of Pi' director Ang Lee also made an appearance.

The Oscar winner spoke about his relationship with the Oscars.

"To me, this is a very sweet homecoming. My relation with the Oscars started here with the Foreign Language Film. I was very foreign in 1993 with The 'Wedding Banquet.' I didn't win that year, but I had a blast," he said. "It was the Oscars! Every filmmaker can dream about thanking their beloved ones, their fellow filmmakers, and the world."

That dream will come true on Sunday for one of these amazing nominees.

The Governor's Ball Red Carpet Preview was held on Thursday. 

After the Oscars on Sunday, Oscar nominees and winners will celebrate another year at the Governor's Ball. 

This preview, given to press each year, allows them to get the scoop on the events' amazing food, design and decor. 

Over 100 journalists and photographers, including myself, swarmed the red carpet anxious to preview world's biggest ball.

Once inside, journalists were immersed in Oscar glam. 

The world renowned chef Wolfgang Puck, Show Producer Cheryl Cecchetto, and Oscar card designer Marc Friedland were at their posts and ready to mingle.

Wolfgang Puck made an assortment of delicious dishes that left my mouth watering and wanting more. 

The menu for the Ball will include: 

- smoked salmon mousee
- prime mini burgers with cheddar cheese and remoulade
- spicy tuna tatare in sesame misocones
- The Patrón Gold Cosmopolitan
- Roasted Yukon Gold Potatoes with Crème Fraîche and Ostera Caviar
- Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Black Truffles
-The Ultimat Blue Sunrise
- Edamame Guacamole
- Bacon wrapped Parmesan-stuffed dates
-Chinois lamb chops with cilantro mint
- Vinaigrette & Stir fried vegetables
- Wild mushroom risotto

My favorite from the menu was this smoke salmon statuette (below):

Another tasty part of the preview was the delicious drinks prepared by Patrón and Ultimat Vodka, Sterling Knight, and Thiènot. 

Patrón and Ultimat Vodka will create custom cocktails for the event. 

Sterling Vineyards will create this years' featured wine. 

While, Thiènot will act as this years' exclusive champagne.

Even though the food looks and tastes delicious, let's not forget about the amazing Oscar envelopes. 

Card Designer Marc Friedland was on deck for the preview, showcasing some of his best work. 

He even created some Bingo Oscar games for at-home Oscar celebrations. 

Governor's Ball producer Cheryl Cecchetto was showcasing her best as well.

With A-list designers and world class chefs, this Governor's Ball is destined to deliver.

The Oscars celebrated Live Action shorts on Tuesday.

 This year's nominees include: "Asad, "Buzkashi Boys," "Curfew," "Death of a Shadow," and "Henry."

 The opening short, "Asad," focused on a Somalian boy who was at a crossroad.

Should he become a pirate or a fisherman?

This short, though humorous, was not as appealing as the others and left me wanting more. However, I did like that it was a foreign film that featured non-actors. The story of the Somali refugee needs exposure and this definitely delivered.

 The same can be said for "Buzkashi Boys," an amazing short featuring the lives of 2 Afghan boys, who must make the decision of their lives.

This short was definitely one of my favorites of the night. The editing, background,and story behind this short really put it above the rest. I think it just may have a chance of winning.

The next short, "Curfew," featured a suicidal man that was given the task of babysitting his sassy niece. I really enjoyed it. This short was a funny and heart-wrenching narrative that ended quite nicely.

Next up was "Death of a Shadow," an intense 20 minute drama that featured a man selling his soul to be with the woman he loved. Turns out she wasn't interested. Bummer! The lead in this film does go on a quest for revenge, but don't worry. He makes the right decision in the end.

This film, although very creative, left me rather confused. I think this film was a little too complex for the average viewer and may be overlooked for simpler plots.

The screening concluded with my favorite of the night, "Henry." This 21 minute short, directed by Yan England, was an emotion-filled saga that documented the life of a man with Alzheimer's disease.

This short made me feel like I was an Alzheimer's victim. I now understand what it means to fight that battle. To me, taking audiences into another world is what film is all about and that's why this one has my vote.

 The Oscars will be celebrating all this week and I will try my hardest to get every bit of it to you.

The Oscars celebrated the world's best Animated shorts on Tuesday.

 The Animated Short Nominees include : Maggie Simpson in "The Longest Daycare," "Adam and Dog," "Fresh Guacamole," "Head over Heels," and "Paperman."

The most popular of the night was Maggie Simpson in "The Longest Daycare."

The film featured Simpson cutie Maggie Simpson and an intense daycare adventure that not only made viewers laugh, but challenged them to question the American education system.

This short was pretty good. With a name like The Simpsons, you can't go wrong. 

The same can be said for 'Paperman,' a 7 minute short, created by Animation Giant Disney.

This one features a 'paperman' who will do anything to get to the woman of his dreams.

Even though both shorts delivered, I cannot say I was very surprised with their creative decisions. The Simpsons short ran like a regular episode as did Disney's 'Paperman.' Both fall short of leaving audiences with something fresh and meaningful.

 However, audiences could find surprise and meaning from the other nominees.

 "Fresh Guacamole," "Head over Heels," and "Adam and Dog," did an amazing job of surprising viewers and challenging them to think of something more.

"Fresh Guacamole" gave a whole new meaning to guacamole in its' 2 minute run.

While the film was creative, I doubt that it can compete with shorts like, "Adam and Dog," and "Head over Heels."

"Adam and Dog," a short featuring the story of how the world's first man met the world's first dog, was a very intriguing film full of graphics and undertones that left audiences in awe.

My favorite of the night was "Head over Heels." This amazing 2d animation was full of humor,intricate graphic, and a truth that left me breathless.

 The short featured an old couple who lived in two different worlds while being under the same roof. They literally were Head over Heels.

That wraps up the Oscar Nominees for Best Animated Shorts. This year's competition is tough  because every short pulls audiences in a different way.

My heart is with 'Head over Heels,' but maybe that is  because I am just a 'Head over Heels' kinda girl.

Michelle Obama praised 'Beasts of the Southern Wild' during a Black History Month workshop on Wednesday.

She called it one of the 'most powerful and important movies' of today.

"It's rare these days to find a movie that can so completely and utterly captivate such a broad audience and that was one of the things that struck me about the movie," she said. "It managed to be beautiful, joyful, and devastatingly honest."

The film is up for 4 Oscars including best actress and picture.

Producers announced that Barbra Streisand will perform at the Oscars on Wednesday.

"In an evening that celebrates the artistry of movies and music, how could the telecast be complete without Barbra Streisand?" said a statement from Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Maron.

This will be Streisand's second Oscar performance.

Her first was in 1977.

Adele will perform for the first time in months at the Oscars on February 23.

She spoke of how excited she was to be performing her Oscar-nominated single ,"Skyfall."

"It's an honor to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in from to people who captured my imagination over and over again " she said , "It's something I've never experienced and probably ever will once."

The 85th Oscars Awards will feature a tribute to the 50 year old Bond franchise.
