Ann Curry to be replaced on 'Today' show

According to reports, NBC is planning to replace Ann Curry on the 'Today' show.

Curry worked with the show as a newscaster for 14 years before replacing Meredith Viera as a co-host in June of last year.

Since her arrival, the 'Today' show has struggled to keep up with its' network rival, ABC.

"The first thing you do is look at what's changed, what are the variables," said Robert Thompson, founding director of Syracuse's university of Bleil Center for Television and Popular Culture. "Ann Curry as a co-host is one of the variables."

NBC officials were reportedly looking for someone to fill in for Curry today, but she showed up for work like nothing happened.

A source close to Curry told media, "She got her dream job and she does not want to let it go."

She is expected to be replaced before the 2012 Olympic Games in July.
