Africa Celebrates Fashion in Dakar
Dakar wrapped up its' 10th fashion week on Sunday with designs from Africa's best.
Although African fashion is still developing, many designers aim to compete with the likes of New York and Paris.
Adama Nydiaye started Dakar Fashion Week 10 years ago to showcase African models and designers.
"It's a high class fashion show that she's trying to do. Very sophisticated which is very rare in Africa," said Cameroon designer Martial Tapolo.
Arame Sarr, an experienced model, explained why she prefers Dakar Fashion Week to others around the world.
"Ah, I prefer this one, of course, because I am Senegalese," She said. "So for me it's the best because we can show everybody in the world that fashion is great in Africa and it was born here."
