Fashion Icon Lilly Pulitzer has died

Lilly Pulitzer, a fashion icon who reigned from from Florida's Palm Beach, has died.

Pulitzer's career began in 1959 when the heiress created a dress to hide fruit stains while running a juice stand.

Her customers were more interested in the dress which prompted Pulitzer to begin selling the tropical dresses.

The dresses, called 'Lillys' by customers, were a staple to Palm Beach natives and eventually gained support from Jackie Kennedy.
