"Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together" Raises Millions

NBC's live telethon, "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together," raised over $20 million this week.

The one hour event, hosted by the American Red Cross and NBC Universal, was thrown to help Hurricane Sandy victims on the East Coast.

"Our preliminary results of nearly $23 million raised are an extraordinary example of how American people pull together in times of disaster. Their generous donations will go directly to those in need, and we urge the public to continue to give, " said American Red Cross official Peggy Dyer.

Matt Lauer, Mary J. Blige, and Christina Aguilera all contributed to the event.
