Aung San Suu Kyi in Switzerland



Aung San Suu Kyi, a female civil rights leader who spent over 20 years in exile, has arrived in Switzerland.

She will begin her 17 day tour in Geneva to address the United Nations International Labor Organisation.

The Burman activist is also expected to accept a Nobel Peace Prize that was awarded to her 21 years ago in Norway.

On Monday, Amnesty International will hold a tribute concert for her in Dublin where she will be given the Ambassador of Conscience Award.

She will spend her 67th birthday in Britain and will receive an honorary doctorate from Oxford.

Her last stop will be in France where she will meet President Francois Hollande.

Aung San Suu Kyi has spent the last 20 years fighting for democracy in a corrupt Myanmar.
