Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj Exit 'Idol'

Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj announced their departure from 'American Idol' on Thursday.

Carey was the first to exit the singing competition.

Her publicity team, PMKBNC, posted the announcement on Twitter.

"W/ global success of #Beautiful (#1 in 30+ countries so far) @MariahCarey confirms World Tour & says goodbye 2 Idol mariahcarey.com"

Minaj also announced her departure through the social networking site.

"Thank you American Idol for a life changing experience," she tweeted. "Wouldn't trade it for the world! Time to focus on the Music !!! Mmmuuuaahh!!

'Idol' vet Randy Jackson left the show in May.

Rumors of an 'Idol' revamp began after the show recieved record low ratings and reviews.
