Thousands Mourn Nigerian Author Chinua Achebe
Thousands mourned the late Nigerian Author Chinua Achebe on Thursday.
Achebe was known for writing novels, like All Things Fall Apart, and his use of literature to denounce injustice in Nigeria.
"In the end, I began to understand," he wrote. "There is such a thing as absolute power over narrative. Those who secure this privilege for themselves can arrange stories about others pretty much where, and as, they like."
Achebe, was buried at his family compound after a funeral service at a local church.
"The death of my uncle is indeed a great loos not only to the family, but to Nigeria and Africa as a whole," said Obi Achebe.
He was 82.
