Mariah Carey releases new single

Pop Diva Mariah Carey began a new era with her latest single, 'Beautiful,' on Monday.

The retro romance ballad , featuring R&B newcomer Miguel, is the first single off of Carey's 13th studio album.

In a recent interview, Carey spoke about her latest hit.

 "I feel like this is the first record I've released that's simmering and bubbling up. It's a feel good record...It's genre-less...It's not following a trend," she said."That's the best thing about this record in my opinion, because having to follow trends is not what's fun about making music."

The singer is scheduled to premiere a music video for the track on 'American Idol' this Wednesday.
