It's National Poetry Month

April 1st is not only the day of April Fools. It is also the first day of National Poetry Month.

The celebration, created by the Academy of American Poets in 1996, is dedicated to the legacy of poetry in America.

The Academy's site, poets.org, will be featuring poetry from America's best, including Langston Hughes, Robert Duncan, and Bessie Head.

Poetry fans can participate in Poem in your Pocket Day, a day celebrated by carrying around pocked sized poems to share with family and friends, on April 18.
