Editor recieves 10 years for insulting Thailand King

Magazine Editor Somyot Pruksakasemsuk was charged with 10 years for insulting Thailand's king on Wednesday.

"The king hold the position of head of state and is the main institution of the country," the court ruled. They believe that Pruksakasemsuk's opinion, " is considered an act that wounds the feelings of Thais who respect and worship the king and the monarchy."

The articles that offended the court feature a family who kills millions and a ghost who haunts the nation.

Even though the articles never mention a king, the court believes there is a connection to historical events.

Pruksakesemsuk was not the author of the articles. The writer, Jakrapob Penkair has fled to Cambodia.
