Famed director Mel Stuart dies

Mel Stuart, director of  'Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory,' has died.

Stuart got his start by directing award-winning documentaries like, "The Making of the President 1960" and "Four Days in November" before releasing his most well-known film "Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory."

His daughter, Madeline, said he died of cancer in his Los Angeles home.

He was 83.
