CNN President Jim Walton resigns

CNN President Jim Walton announced his resignation from the network on Friday.

"CNN needs new thinking," he said. "That starts with a new leader who brings a different perspective, different experiences, and a new plan, one who will build on our great foundation and will commit to seeing it through. And I'm ready for a change."

Walton's resignation came 2 years after CNN's US President Jon Klein was fired for low ratings.

The network is currently holding a search for its' new worldwide president.
