Andre 3000 will cover the greats for Jimi Hendrix biopic

Andre Benjamin, also known as Andre 3000, will cover the Beatles and Muddy Waters for the new Jimi Hendrix biopic, All is By My Side.

The film is unable to use any original Jimi Hendrix songs due to refusal from Hendrix's estate.

Instead, All is By My Side will focus on Hendrix's early career before his music debut and feature Benjamin singing "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," "Wild Thing," "Hound Dog," and more.

"This is the story of Jimi being discovered as a backup musician and how he went to London and became Jimi Hendrix," said movie producer Sean McKittrick.

The movie is currently shooting in Dublin, Ireland.
