Marilyn Monroe exhibit opens at Ferragamo

Ferragamo opened a Marilyn Monroe tribute exhibit on Wednesday in Florence, Italy.

The show commemorates the 50th anniversary of the late icon's death with personal memoirs, film clips, magazine covers, and clothing she wore in her most well-known movies.

"Researching Marilyn, we realized what an extraordinary women she was," said Stefania Ricci, who partnered with Salvatore Ferragamo on the exhibit. "As it's been said, she is the avatar of the American dream. She is a woman who truly wanted to assert herself."

The exhibit will run until January 28,2013.
