Obama raises $15 million at Clooney fundraiser
Thursday night, President Obama teamed up with Hollywood A-lister George Clooney to bring in some major bucks for his 2012 campaign.
Jeffrey Katzenburg, the man responsible for organizing the fundraising dinner, said the event was able to raise $15 million.
"Once again the entertainment industry has stepped forward in a very big way," he said.
The dinner took place a day after the president made a historic stance on gay marriage.
The president did not speak about gay marriage directly, but he did speak on the need for equality in America.
"Are we a country that includes everybody and gives everybody a shot and treats everybody fairly and is that going to make us stronger? Are we welcoming to immigrants? Are we welcoming to people who are not like us? Does that make us stronger? So that's what at stake."
