New Shoe Company sells Rayfish sneakers
If you're a fashionista who likes to take chances and set trends, then this one may be for you.
However, if you have any attachment to animals or if you are a member of animal rights group PETA, then you should stop reading...NOW!
A 'pioneering' shoe company has decided to sell shoes that are made from genetically engineered stingrays.
The new company, Rayfish Footwear, is holding a design contest to attract customers.
Here's how it works:
You design your Ray, and we breed it for you. It's as simple as that. With our online design tool, you can combine existing natural patterns and colors into an original style that's all your own. Once your Rayfish are fully grown, we turn them into a unique pair of sneakers.
The company is set to launch next year and the starting cost for these (ahem) sneakers will be $1,800.
What do you think? Will you be 'growing your sneakers'?
