Gay Oreo cookie stirs controversy

Oreo is under fire after publishing a picture of a Gay Pride Oreo on their Facebook page.

The rainbow filled cookie was designed to celebrate Gay Pride Month.

Thousands of Oreo Fans have shown support and disdain for the colorful cookie.

"This is absolutely disgusting. Your attempt to 'normalize' the behaviour of homosexuals has cost you a customer," a former fan wrote.

One commenter created a 'Boycott Oreo' Facebook page, encouraging others to boycott Kraft products.

"No I do 'not' hate gay people. I am not a 'homophobe......I am against the lifestyle choice, however. It goes against the Biblical prophecy and against how nature intended....That being said, I refuse to support the lifestyle or what Oreo/ Kraft is doing. So I have decided to not buy their products."

You would think that Kraft would be a little concerned about the backlash, but Basil Maglaris does not seem to mind.

The Kraft associate director told Reuters, "As a company, Kraft Foods has a proud history of celebrating diversity and inclusiveness. We feel the Oreo ad is a fun reflection of our values."
